Smart RF and Millimetre Wave Systems

Communications Research Group

The team is internationally recognized for the research on smart antennas and phased array systems for satellite communications and radars, space antennas, millimeter-wave antennas and RF wireless systems. The team has collaborations with institutes and industries internationally (Airbus Germany, Airbus France, Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd. UK, NPL, IHP Microelectronics, University of Ulm, Germany, University of Calabria, Italy, etc). Current research areas of Smart RF and Wireless Systems Team cover smart antennas, phased arrays, space antennas, Massive Multiple Inputs and Multiple Outputs (M-MIMO), small antennas, RF/microwave, millimeter-wave and THz circuits(high-efficiency RF/microwave power amplifiers, filters), substrate integrated waveguides (SIW), satellite communications, wireless power transfer, UWB radars, GNSS reflectometry, synthetic-aperture radars, remote sensing, electromagnetic modelling and small satellites.
