The School of Engineering and Digital Arts is committed to the fundamental principles of equality, diversity and inclusivity for all. The current EDI rep for EDA is Ms Catherine Butler
The University's Equality Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) Network helps to inform and disseminate EDI policies and good practice initiatives as well as providing a forum for discussion and consultation on EDI matters of interest to the student and staff population.
The Harassment Network is made up of members of staff trained as Harassment Contacts, who can be contacted by students and staff for advice and support if they suspect they are being subjected to bullying or harassment.
Within the School of Engineering and Digital Arts, we celebrate matters of Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity in various ways, including:
- International Women’s Day
- Rosh Hashanah,
- Eid al-Adha
- Chinese New Year
- Jeans for Genes
- World Aids Day
Additionally, Kent hosts Worldfest – an annual four-day event for students and staff celebrating diversity and multiculturalism within the University. (This is usually held in February.) A variety of events celebrating are staged every October.
