The University's Equality Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) Network helps to inform and disseminate EDI policies and good practice initiatives as well as providing a forum for discussion and consultation on EDI matters of interest to the student and staff population.

The University is a member of the Stonewall Diversity Champions programme and the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) Staff Network  promotes positive attitudes towards LGBT people, identifies ways to address inequalities and ensures issues of sexual orientation and gender identity are integrated into the operation of equality and diversity at the University. A variety of events marking LGBT Month take place every February.

The Women's Network was formed in 2004 and offers valuable support to members and feedback to the University on priorities for action. With the aim of embedding equal opportunities for women within its working practices, the School of Engineering and Digital Arts was delighted to receive an Athena SWAN  Bronze Award in 2015.

The Disability Staff Network is open to any member of staff who feels they would benefit from attending. A variety of awareness-raising events are held throughout the year including themed events coinciding with wider campaigns such as Mental Health Awareness Week (every May).
