Catherine works closely with Student Societies and supports student led events and initiatives in order to enhance student engagement within the School, with the overall aim of ensuring that students have a positive experience at each step of their University career.  She is also the first point of contact for staff members in relation to EDI issues.

The University's Equality Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) Network helps to inform and disseminate EDI policies and good practice initiatives as well as providing a forum for discussion and consultation on EDI matters of interest to the student and staff population.

The Student Support and Wellbeing Service (SSW) is committed to improving access to learning for all students and provides a wide range of support services.

The School of Engineering and Digital Arts is committed to advancing women's careers in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM) employment in higher education. The School was delighted to receive an Athena SWAN  Bronze Award in 2015.
